Bartending School Nj

how can i become a bartender? nj?
ok so i really want to get into bartending . how can i start ? is there a school or something that i would have to go to? i live in north jersey . by jersey city.does anyone know of a place around here where i can get started?
If you live near JC and can get to Hoboken… i’d try to find a job there. I go to school in Hoboken and there are SO many bars (which you probably knew if you live up there). One of my friends spent $400 on a bartending class and couldn’t get a job afterwards (she lives in ocean county)… but I know of people who bartend in Hoboken who didn’t do the class- some bars will train you and they all have little “cheater’s guides” underneath the bar in case there’s a drink You Don‘t know how to make.
In the meantime, I’d look up on google popular mixed drinks and maybe make some flash cards to help you remember how to make the ones people order the most.
Good luck!

Flair Bartending $40.76 Flair bartending is the practice of bartenders entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways. Used occasionally in cocktail bars, the action requires skills commonly associated with jugglers. It has become a sought-after talent among venue owners and marketers to help advertise a liquor product or the opening of a bar establishment. Competitions have been sponsored by liquor brands to attract flair bartenders, and some hospitality training companies hold courses to teach flair techniques. Sometimes referred to as "extreme bartending," the word flair became popular among practitioners in the mid 1990s. Also used as a verb (e.g "to be flairing"), the word refers to any trickery used by a bartender in order to entertain guests while mixing a drink. Flair can include juggling, flipping (bottles, shakers), manipulating flammable liquors or even performing close-up magic tricks (also referred to as "bar-magic"). |
